Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Lunn’s Colonial Chapel with Rev. Daniel M. Garza officiating. There will be a visitation after the service and prior to the entombment in the Crestview Garden Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.Catherine was born November 2, 1929 to Melton D. and Mable M. (Taylor) Fox in Decatur, Texas. After moving to the area in 1942, she met and married Millard C. Porter, Jr. on February 7, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Catherine worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Joe and Bill Hale in their Oil Field Supply business and retired in 2005. Catherine was a member of Fain Presbyterian Church for many years. A lover of flowers, she was a member of the Red River Orchid Society and the African Violet Society.Catherine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived her loving husband of 70 years, M.C. Porter, Jr.; her two sons, Rev. Paul E. Porter and wife Suzanne of Bluff Dale, Texas and Terry L. Born to William A. & Margaret L. (Shavlik) Muff on Aug. 15, 1946, at Mrs. Mitchell's Maternity House in Crete. Paul enjoyed wood working, gardening, traveling & fishing. He grew up in a large family on the farm. He graduated from Crete High School, then went on to attend the University of Nebraska where he majored in Art & Architecture for two years before being asked to return to the farm. Paul was a builder & land developer his entire career. Paul was a devoted & loving husband, father & grandfather. He was a practical joker & a great story teller.Paul is survived by his wife; Laurel, sons; Paul (Melissa McCoy) Muff, Will (Stacey) Muff, Scott (Kristin) Muff, Charles B.
